Phosphates are hygroscopic powders shipped in bulk across some of the longest, most humid sea routes in global trade. Get packaging and loading right and a container arrives exactly as it left the factory. Get it wrong and you’re dealing with caked product, torn bags, or a customs delay that costs more than the freight itself.
Packaging options
Our standard packaging is 25 kg or 50 kg multi-wall paper bags with a moisture-resistant inner liner, or 1000 kg bulk bags (FIBC / jumbo bags) for buyers with bulk unloading capability. Private label packaging is available for qualified volumes. The right choice depends less on cost per bag and more on how your receiving facility actually handles material — a plant with a bulk bag unloading station wastes money buying 25 kg bags, and a plant without pallet jacks struggles with 1000 kg bags on the dock.
Palletized vs floor-loaded
Floor-loading (stacking bags directly on the container floor) maximizes the weight you can fit per container, since you’re not losing space to pallet height and gaps. Palletizing costs some capacity but dramatically speeds up unloading and reduces bag damage from repeated handling — a real consideration for destination ports where labor time or dwell time is expensive.
Rule of thumb
For destinations with fast, low-cost manual unloading, floor-loading usually wins on landed cost. For destinations with expensive labor or automated warehouse receiving, palletizing usually wins on total cost once you include unloading time.
Reference loading quantities
| Container | Floor-Loaded (25kg bags) | Palletized |
|---|---|---|
| 20′ Standard | ~24–25 MT | ~20–21 MT |
| 40′ Standard | ~26–27 MT | ~22–23 MT |
Reference figures only — actual loading quantity depends on the specific product’s bulk density, bag size, and stacking pattern. We confirm exact loading plans per order.
Moisture protection
Container “sweat” — condensation forming on container walls and ceiling during temperature swings on long ocean voyages — is the biggest risk to hygroscopic phosphate powders in transit. We line containers appropriately and use moisture-resistant bag construction as standard; for particularly long or humid routes, ask about desiccant options and additional container lining.
Documentation
Standard shipping documentation includes the commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, Certificate of Analysis (COA), and certificate of origin. Depending on your destination market, you may also need a health certificate, Halal or Kosher certificate, or fumigation certificate for wooden pallets — let us know your import requirements when you place your order so documentation is prepared correctly the first time.
Frequently asked questions
What’s the minimum order quantity?
Typical MOQ is one full 20′ container. Smaller trial quantities may be available for new customers evaluating our products — ask our export team.
Do you offer FOB, CIF, or CFR terms?
Yes, we can quote under standard Incoterms based on your preference and destination port.
Can I mix multiple products in one container?
Yes, LCL-style mixed loading within a single FCL is common for buyers ordering several products — just note the products and approximate split when requesting a quote.
